MOONSHOTS
EVENTS 2016-2020

Like so many industries in this age of technological acceleration, Education is ripe for disruption. Every aspect of education - from traditional K-12 classes to higher ed, to vocational, and professional development, is experiencing increased pressure to leverage new technologies, and methods, to deliver knowledge and skills more effectively and efficiently in a customizable framework that satisfies the needs of a wildly diverse public.

At our next Moonshot, we will explore The Future of Education, through the lenses of some of Tallahassee’s leading experts. We have invited local leaders in education, from across a wide and diverse spectrum of interests, to share their insights from years of experience, and their dreams for the future of education, with our Moonshot community. Each expert will provide a short 5-minute presentation of their compelling visions for the future of education. The series of presentations will be followed by a Q&A session and stimulating discussion on the topic.

Overview

Housing fulfills a fundamental human need required for the actualization of human potential. A home provides security, dignity, community, and a shot at self-actualization. Abundant affordable housing is a key component in a community’s ability to flourish. This Moonshot Night showcases innovative Tallahassee women developing the future of housing that will transform Tallahassee, and serve as models for the rest of the world. Join us as Loranne Ausley, Monique Ellsworth, Kyndra Light, and Allison Tant Richard talk about their inspiring work with Tallahassee’s Purpose Built Community project, our tiny house community, The Dwellings, the nation's first, residential permitted 3-printed homecoming to Tallahassee this Spring, and Independence Landing, an independent living community for adults with intellectual and/or cognitive disabilities.
